Sebastien Brunet - Renaissance Vouvray 2021 (750ml)

in 2006, sébastien brunet took over his family's 3 hectares, which he has gradually managed to expand to 15 hectares of vines today, divided between the communes of vernou and chançay. this hard-working, discreet and demanding winegrower cultivates his vines by hand with the greatest respect for the environment. he has installed a new cellar to gently vinify the full range of expressions of vouvrillon chenin, from bubbles to mellows, when the year allows. parcel-by-parcel expression is favoured, with arpent coming from flinty soils, and renaissance from clay-limestone. the wines: the sunny 2020 vintage gave the winemakers a hard time about achieving balance. the wines are often marked by a vegetal framework that blurs the cuvées, and le naturel suffers from this effect. brut 2017 is more harmonious, with a seductive toasty patina. renaissance 2020 has a clean attack and a rigid finish, as does les pentes de la folie 2020, which is more intense and full-bodied. fosse rouge is more flora
