He is bearing gifts means he is carrying gifts. There is another well-known definition of phrase which translates from Latin "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes," which, well, has a different depiction of “bearing gifts” as in a warning of the gifts being delivered. Regardless of either definition or translation, our design is a little more literal in the term “bear-ing gifts” as in “bear”, teddy bear that is.
