Prime among them is a 1024x768 @ 12 µm thermal sensor which generates images with high resolution and exceptional detail. Animals can be seen clearly in both dimension and behavior, and a 6' tall object can be detected at nearly 1.5 miles. The germanium objective binocular lenses are 50mm f/1.0. The Merger LRF XL50 has variable magnification from 2.5x to 20x which can be changed smoothly or in 2x increments. Clarity remains the same over the zoom range. Since the images are displayed on a 1024x768 AMOLED HD screen for each eye, each eyepiece has its own diopter. Eye relief is 15mm and field of view is 80.7x60.7 feet at 100 yards and 2.5x.
