Using a rare earth magnet, it can detect gaps of up to 5/8-inch and is Z-Wave Plus enabled, with an impressive operating range of up to 100 feet. Simply add the sensor to your Z-Wave network before installation, and secure it to your door or window for an added layer of home security. The sensor mounts to the fixed jamb of the door/window, while the magnet attaches to the actual door/window. The sensor features a distinguishing mark indicating where the magnet should align relative to the sensor. When they are separated or brought together (opened or closed), the sensor will send an alert.
