Jack
Alphonse Daudet (source); [André Liabel (director)]. Jack. Paris: Cinéma Éclair [or Société Française des Films et Cinématographes Éclair], 1913. Original release, country of origin poster. Grande affiche (58.8125 x 39.1875 inches; 1495 x 995 mm.). Single sheet, folded with seven horizontal and three vertical folds. Paper lightly tanned but still supple; upper edge somewhat worn with a few small chips and closed tears; both right-side corners creased in the margins; a little bit of fold separation along the vertical edges, with a single interior hold; probably double the necessary horizontal folds, a couple folds sharply creased; a few minor interior creases, not associated with folds; pinholes; a few faint stray marginal fox marks. Very good. From the archive of Nederlands Filmmuseum, Amsterdam, No. ECC 20 (by way of Heritage Auctions), with its rubber stamp on the verso. A pretty cheerful-looking poster for standard miserablist plot ("a woman torn between physical and maternal love,"
