March 2022   Description: This artwork stands as a testament to the beauty, power, and resilience of women around the world. “Mother of Exiles” is a line from a poem written for the Statue of Liberty. In my depiction Lady Liberty is a Black woman, freeing herself from the bondages of exploitation.
