While the intent is that 22 of these brackets be used for installing 11 roof rafters (12' span with close spacing) and the remaining 24 be used for one privacy wall with 12 slats (8' height with close spacing), you can use the brackets any way you'd like (i.e. adding another privacy wall or half/partial wall, adding a side railing, increasing the number of slats in a roof/wall section, etc.).
