Sunset Over Three Pines on a Distant Shore Original Painting Laura Milnor Iverson Official Site
The silhouette of three pine trees on the shore of a lake, in my memory from my walks in Los Gatos, California, combine with my walks in the wetlands in Oregon. The fiery yellows, oranges and reds transition to gentle blue violet and on to indigo. The reflection on the lake below mirrors the intense colors of the sky, while silhouettes of trees and birds, the the geese in the sky and the ducks in the water, and a few dragonflies, add to the serene landscape. In this painting, I captured just the mood I was going for. The memory of a now distant place fused with a now familiar one. The hush of that moment when sunset turns to evening. This landscape is an original acrylic painting on a stretched canvas (the staple-free sides are painted). It has been varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors. This painting will hang just fine on a nail. Hanging hardware is not included (local art or framing stores can usually be found to add this at a nominal cost). Artist: Laur
