Spider Wood | S & M Sizes! For Aquarium, Terrarium, Vivarium, and Reptile Use!

Spider Wood is a classic seen in many aquascapes and aquadcape competitions! Spider wood is known for it’s spider-like limbs that protrude from a central knot or node. This wood will not sink immediately and will need to be held down with a weight until it is fully saturated, this could take some time. Alternatively, you can boil the wood for a few hours to increase inner saturation. Spider wood releases much less tannins than other woods, but it will turn your water a brown color. This is not harmful to your aquatic inhabitants, and can actually induce therapeutic properties. Once your spider wood has been in your tank, a white biofilm will begin to develop. The biofilm is not harmful, it’s a bacterial bloom that happens with all driftwood. Use this wood to attach plants. Pairs well with our various Anubias, Bucephalandra, ferns, and mosses!
