Nambu ironware is a traditional craft made in Morioka and Oshu cities in Iwate Prefecture.  To do before use: Wash with water using a soft sponge. (Do not use detergent. The detergent will penetrate into the uneven surface of the steel, making it difficult to remove.) The detergent will get into the uneven surface of the iron and will be difficult to remove.- Please place over low heat to allow the water to evaporate completely. Store in a dry place.
