The Threat of Dialects?

A 2004 zine by university linguistics student Jessica Brown, made from a paper she did for a class at the University of Rhode Island. In it, she attempts to document the lexicon of punk/hardcore, to determine if it constituted an “argot” - domain-specific coded language that is used in a subculture. She interviewed nine subjects and compiled a glossary of terms. Fun zine that straddles this scene as an academic and a participant.
