  Product Description:  Spice box sets like this one were commonly used in most kitchens in the mid to late 1800's.  This spice tin set is all original holding six spice containers.  It holds six 2 1/2” tall spice containers, each stenciled on the lid with the name of the spice.  The worn,exterior of the spice box, most likely once japanned with signs of early soldered seams, a top pull-ring and a tight-fitting front snap-latch that still works like a charm!  Even though the original nutmeg grinder is missing in the center chimney, this spice set is a fine, early collectible to own.
