Antique Framed Needlework Sampler on Perforated Paper - "Home Sweet Home" Motto
Product Description: Needlework with motto designs such as the well recognizable "Home Sweet Home" on Punched Paper were popular during 1875 - 1885. This was an inexpensive way to create beautiful needlework and express thoughts to those who read them. This particular Framed Antique Needlework on Perforated Paper is behind a glass and was acquired from an auction. It features tan and brown natural colors with the motto "Home Sweet Home" along with a touch of blue/green accents. It is mounted on a board behind glass, framed with a beautiful wooden Adirondack carved frame. This rustic frame offers crossed corners with four wood leaves. The tin foil accent that was originally put in place can be seen through the front perforated holes and around the edges of the backboard. This common method was used to add an elegant appearance.
