Antique Framed Pennsylvania German Fraktur, HAUS SEGEN - House of Blessing c. 1800's
Product Description: Early on, this Pennsylvania German Fraktur may have been given as a house warming gift during the early to mid-1800’s. Much later on it was framed under glass for display purposes. It features elaborate Calligraphic lettering with a religious House Blessing Poem (Haus-Segen) written in German with printed and hand-colored illustrations of cherubs, birds, corn and fruit. For many years, this fraktur was most likely folded and stored away as most were in bibles or books. A lovely piece of history to display or give as a "House Blessing" gift.
