Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Art Style Painted Table Top Vanity with Mirror
Product Description: It is evident there is much love for both Folk Art and nature in this wooden two drawer vanity. Crafted and hand-painted from the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania region, this piece is believed to be the work-of-art of Ben F. Hoover and was painted by his daughter, Nora M. Hoover. It depicts nature with applied hand-painted birds (possibly Distlefinks) along with two hummingbirds pollinating flowers around an oval glass mirror. Inside both pull-out drawers are interesting, small collages from older newspaper or magazine clippings that were applied. The top drawer is the subject of “Cocoanut” and bottom drawer “Wool”. A lovely work of art most likely from the later part of 1900s that represents the love and simple way of life. Unfortunately both passed within months of one another in 2014-2015.
