Every Person in New York, 100 for 20x200
These drawings are part of a project called Every Person in New York. I have been working on the project for over three years and have drawn over 16,000 people. The drawings in this edition range from a man riding two bikes in Central Park, to a little girl looking at beetles at The Natural History Museum, to a man sleeping in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, to the comedian Aziz Ansari at the Museum of Modern Art, to a couple who are having their wedding pictures taken in Grand Central Station. I think a lot about the people I am drawing. I also think about the location we are in while I am drawing them. People move at different speeds, wear different clothes, and act differently in different parts of the city and I like thinking (and learning) about these things while I watch them go about their day.
