2022 Outward Wines Syrah, Santa Ynez, California

Outward Winemakers, Ryan and Natalie, are focused on producing small-lot, site-specific wines that collectively showcase the diversity of terroir across California's Central Coast. They source grapes from expressive vineyards that span the region; including Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Monterey counties. All of the vineyards they work with are farmed using organic or biodynamic practices and are located close to the cold Pacific Ocean. In the cellar, they strive to minimize inputs throughout the winemaking process allowing for a clear picture of what the site can provide naturally, giving the wine a true sense of time and place. Notes from the winemaker: The 2023 Santa Ynez Valley Syrah comes from two different sites within a couple miles of each other in Santa Ynez: the Pace Vineyard and Rusack Vineyard.
