A nineteenth-century carved Black Forest dog match holder. The dog is wonderfully carved with great expression and is seated next to a tree stump fitted with a brass insert for matches. His eyes are glass, and the carving retains a fine patina. The condition is very good. Dimensions: Height 4.5, Depth 4”, Width 8.5”.
