The Brause Brandzug nib is use for calligraphy, particularly for creating bold, sharp lines in styles like Gothic, Italic, and Roman lettering, thanks to its unique square cut tip and ink reservoir allowing for precise upstrokes and distinct letterforms. Bangzug nibs come in a range of six sizes measured across the front of the nib from 1mm to 6mm. We only stock the 2mm size which is a good compromise. The Brause Bandzug nib is considered ideal for broad-edged calligraphy with a strong visual impact because of these features: Square cut tip - this design creates a sharp, defined line with noticeable differences between downstrokes and upstrokes.
