Lightweight, balanced, and focused, this possible German instrument most likely dates mid century. It bares a "Repaired and Improved by August Germunder and Sons, New York, 1940" label inside, possibly indicating a regraduating of the top and a new bass bar. This instrument shows evidence of some neck/button repair as well as a scroll graft. One piece maple back with some great carving going on... no idea what it means!! Currently setup by local Black Mountain luthier Kate Rickenbacker with Prim Orchestral strings.
