Purple Haze, 2018 Rhododendron The Purple Haze term is used to describe how the sun affects the inhabitants of a planet. I love that description, especially since this design is as psychedelic as Jimi Hendrix’s song of the same name. I created a purple flower with what actually began as a pink azalea. The color pink seemed too precious for the sensuous flowers that blossomed wildly in my garden, so I reimagined what I saw. The color purple now jazzed up my design with a cool vibe that I think the late Jimi Hendrix would have liked.
