The РОLУОТ-ОИ system used the РСБН-6С module to aid in short-range navigation and landing approach under inclement weather conditions. It provided continuous coordinate guidance during approach. The panel was installed on the left hand console of the USSR MiG-21 Fighter (aka Fishbed), which entered service in 1959 and still flies for a number of national air forces.
