Purple & Orange Octopus Nature's Design Beaded Kumihimo Necklace Rare - 32"

Another Maui original design that has evolved my Art Jewelry world as I continue to expand what is possible to do with lamp-work beads. This one-of-a-kind design incorporates several Kumihimo techniques. The numerous textures are created by first weaving the octopus onto 4 dark purple Japanese silk cords to hold the octopus in place. We then used 16 bundles of dark golden Kumihimo silk fiber on a Japanese Marudai braiding stand to weave (using an Oimatsu pattern). We lastly wove into the silk cords two different purple tones of Unicorne Beads for another design element. Then to add more texture we dropped in/out the dark purple cords out from the main braid as if the octopus arms were wrapping itself around the center of this necklace.
