Winemaker: Patrick CappielloAppellation: Mendocino County – Redwood Valley Varietals: 100% Chardonnay Vineyards: Hawkeye Winemaking: Whole cluster fruit hand harvested directly to our press. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tank. Natural yeast fermentation.Farming: Organic Aging: Aged in old wood barrels for 5 months, then transferred to stainless steel for 2 months.ABV: 12.5% Production: 250 cases Chardonnay from the organically farmed Hawkeye Ranch Vineyard in the Redwood Valley of Mendocino County. Once again we are blown away by the fruit from Hawkeye Vineyard in the Redwood Valley. Flinty and salty, with a rich, round mouthfeel. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel and neutral oak, and matured for five months in oak. The wine was transferred to stainless steel to settle for an additional 2 months before bottling, unfined/unfiltered.
