Let’s start with the vortex evaporation system, a patented process that increases the speed of evaporation up to ten times compared with other evaporation techniques. A water bath gives the chamber an even temperature distribution while a gas flow is delivered over a set period of time. (Nitrogen is recommended, depending on the application, or oil free compressed air if nitrogen is not suitable/available. See operator’s manual for more detail.) The Zymark TurboVap 96 is ideal for sample volumes of 1 mL to 30 mL and can accommodate standard test tubes, conical bottom tubes, GC vials, and microfuge tubes, depending on the rack.
