Green pictorial hardcover with clipped dust jacket, unpaginated, published by Hallmark in Kansas City circa 1970. Hans Christian Andersen's "Thumbelina," deftly retold by Dean Walley and splendidly illustrated by Arlene Noel. Impressive design by Frances Yamashita with stunning paper mechanics by Bruce Baker. Rich, vibrant illustrations with eight intricate paper mechanics. Pop-ups are in perfect condition with full motion. Photos cannot do justice to the depth of the three-dimensional dioramas. Interior is free of marks, folds, bends, or tears, save for a neat, cursive gift inscription in the frontispiece, "Happy birthday Anita from Donna, Dangle, and Daniel 1972." Bumped spine corners. Normal wear to dust jacket with approximately one-inch open tear, as pictured. Splendid condition for a fifty-year-old children's pop-up book. A gorgeous collection addition. ~9 x 7 x .25in, 15oz scarcity rating: 1
