Back when Achy Breaky Heart and 2G wireless were searing brains and ear holes, Magic Motorcycles quietly shook the bike world with a hollow aluminum crank that was the trifecta of radness.  Light, machined aluminum and not Achy Breaky, like most 90’s machined cranks were.  It was truly revolutionary.  Magic Motorcycles was bought by Cannondale, and the cranks became Coda brand, then eventually Cannondale System SI.  The latter is still considered one of the lightest, stiffest cranks out there.   Garbaruk has taken the same concept and made a contemporary 1x mountain crankset.  Hollow, wicked light (sub 400 grams for crank arms and spindle), stiff, retro cool but only if you know the Magic Motorcycles origins.
