You are Always Invited

Oil 28x38 I originally created this painting for the Mary Heaton Vorse House. The new custodian of this property is a connoisseur of people and spaces. He loves great art, history, happenings , and those souls that conspire. Like Mary , he brings people together .  This table by the harbor constantly hosts these souls. Mismatched chairs, glasses, napkins, and people come together under the ferry lights. It's always a delight to be invited. Everyone wants to be invited.   I wanted to capture a moment in the parade of diners at this table. This particular table seats a few of the local characters who are consistently in the mix at this table.
