A seventeenth century, c. 1674, English oak bible box, the front panel hand-carved with a foliate design and the edges with notching, and fitted with metal straps and hinges. The slanted top raises to reveal an open interior with a small shelf fitted with two drawers. Measures: 12 1/2 x 26 x 16 5/8 inches
