1910s Edwardian Tea Dress Embroidered Gauze with Openwork
Gorgeous Edwardian tea dress from the 1910's, constructed of cotton gauze in creamy ivory. Dress features pin tucks, padded embroidery and openwork crochet lace. Fitted bodice with a beautiful embroidered flower garland surrounded by meandering flower vines; gathered waist accented with openwork crochet. Elbow-length dolman sleeves have horizontal knife pleats and pin tucks (pattern is repeated at sides of skirt near hips); mother of pearl buttons at the cuffs. Skirt has the same embroidered floral pattern as the bodice; openwork crochet down to the first horizontal pleat. Mother of pearl/shell closures at back of dress. Fabric is sheer and will require a slip. Best fits a Small. Measurements are taken flat, doubled where appropriate. These are garment measurements so be sure to allow room for movement.
