Antique 19th Century French Sewing Set, Ivory Etui, Necessaire, Sterling Silver Vermeil Tools
We've had this for decades, and it's time to disburse old collections. This is an imperfect set, one we intended to find the little knife and the pencil or stylus to fit it. We're going to let its next owner take on the task (I always forgot to draw measurements when we'd travel to French markets likely to have loose implements). I'm essentially going to price it only for the antique French sewing tools, silversmith marks show it as .800/1000 pure silver with an 18k gold layer (vermeil), a very fine set. Scissors, needle case, thimble original to this case or box or etui. Photos note the measurements. Good to very good condition for age and type, as noted above, it has 3 of 5 implements, sterling silver with 18k gold layer, vermeil. Fine French artistry also evident on the case or etui, it also is slightly less than perfect as you can see (flat chip on each end). Sold as is, and well below our cost on this old one.
