Red Margraves

Marquis Lewis (A/K/A RETNA) is internationally recognized as one of the masters of 21st century, contemporary art. RETNA is primarily recognized for street art, having developed a one of a kind ”constructed script” , often times referred to as a secret language , derived from Blackletter, Egyptian Hieroglyphics, Arabic, and Hebrew calligraphy , as well as more traditional types of street-based graffiti. The artist has referred to this secret script as ”Margraves” , he has been known to sign his works with “Margraves” and has executed multiple pieces over the course of his career titled as such. ”Red Margraves” is a large scale, original painting executed by RETNA in 2021.
