It is not intended for wear or practical use and cannot be returned for change of mind.Predating the lace up version, the US Navy WWII 1940s Foul Weather Parka with hook closure front was crafted from heavy, water-resistant fabric to shield sailors from cold and spray. Featuring a hood and hinged metal hook fastenings over a generous neck gusset, it was practical for harsh sea duty. Widely worn by naval landing crews during World War II, including the Normandy landings in 1944, this parka played a vital role in keeping sailors protected during one of history’s most significant amphibious operations. This jacket has a nice overall pale faded colouration with minimal damage, considering it's history. The clip fastenings all work as needed with a satisfying snap closure, deep patina and a little rust. The taped seams are in very good condition and there is only one small (~3cm long) hole to the right sleeve near the cuff. Light
