New Kingdom, 19th dynasty (1279- 1213 BC ) An exquisite and choice glazed steatite scarab which is quite well done . The naturalistic top with clear defined head features and oval nbase inscribed with a king kneeling, and presenting a tray of offering to a seated Ptah. At top is the cartouche of the King Ramesses II which says “Usermaatre, the image of Re.” Size 11/16 in L. Ex Collection of David and Beverly Hall Billings, Nantucket, Massachusetts.
