Juvenile Nicaraguan Boa

Nicaraguan boas are native to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Belize, and Panama. Nicaraguan boas are a smaller species of boa constrictor, usually growing to a maximum of five feet long. Nicaraguan boas can have an attitude. They are usually calm, solitary snakes but will hiss loudly if they feel threatened. Boas constrict and suffocate their prey before eating them. They have heat-sensing pits on the sides of their heads and small, hook shaped teeth.
