Belle Pente Estate Riona's Block Pinot Noir 2019

A first-ever bottling from our friends at Belle Pente, and like no other they've done! A noticeable contrast from their Belle Pente Vineyard and Estate Reserve bottlings, owing in part to the clonal difference and the increased use of whole clusters in fermentation, Riona's Block 2019 is brilliant. The shift in aromatics toward fabulous savory complexities, the texture and bright character—this is a Pinot that long time Belle Pente fans will go crazy for, as will any/all lovers of classic Pinot noir. Only 6 barrels (150 cases) produced. From Belle Pente: This is our first new estate Pinot in many years. It is a special selection of 6 barrels from a section of the vineyard planted in 1999, the year our daughter Riona was born. This block is distinctive due to a vein of volcanic ash embedded in the sandstone formation beneath the vineyard, and since the block is now mature (like it's namesake!), we plan to make a small block-designated offering every year. For the debut rendition, the wi
