A Glimmer

“A Glimmer” 12x36” oil on CanvasA few weeks before Layton Died I heard about this thing called a Glimmer. It’s the opposite of a trigger, some micro moment/thing that brings you peace and Joy- it calms your nerves system. Everything about what’s happened is traumatic to there are a lot of things that freak me out that never did before. My nervous system is heightened, I’m more paranoid, I think every time I get a call something bad happened-and it’s terrible. But there are these micro moments that make me feel safe, a routine in the morning, working out, seeing certain people. This painting felt like a glimmer. Painting something so colorful but also kind’ve dark, the light trying its best to pop through. It felt right🧡 This painting was not meant to be perfect, I used a big brush and pallet knife to add texture. I kinda love it. Especially with the white butterfly
