The Great Explorers

24X30" oil on Canvas "A mama and baby mountain goat roaming the cliffs of Montana."This piece was such an exciting study! I got to explore two new things: first, a completely new anatomy — I had never painted mountain goats before — and second, experimenting with the blurry-to-focused effect, which was a fun challenge to bring depth and movement into the scene. I really enjoyed working on this one, and I hope that joy comes through in the final piece. Huge thanks to Jordan Lefler for the beautiful reference!
