Two Neolithic basalt celts mounted on black steel bases. In archaeology, a celt is a long, thin, prehistoric, stone or bronze tool used as an adze, hoe, hammer or axe. They are beautiful prehistoric objects as compelling as a modern sculpture. Each has it's own character, I'm offering these together but could break them up and sell individually. 2200 B.C. Provenance Ex Col: Peter Pellettieri, artist and teacher, Mr. Pellettieri was a connoisseur and collector of early European art and antiquities. 7.75" High
