In 1997, Badu formally emerged with the release of her debut project, Baduizm. The stand-out sounds launched her and her headwrap into superstardom. Her wrap quickly became synonymous with regality and mystique, and fans long wondered about the hat’s contents. The front reads “E. Badu AKA Analogue Girl”, her first alter ego.
