Venus de Milo: Becoming

A set of 3 original, encaustic / mixed media pieces created using high quality, artist grade materials. The originals have sold but you can purchase a set of high quality, archival 8" x 10" fine art prints here. These were such a joy to make, and quite the journey! When I started the first one, I had no idea there were 2 more yet to be born. But now that all is said & done, and these 3 pieces have been birthed — they just so happen to tell a story... The Venus de Milo first becomes aware that she's stuck in her cold, hard marble, but luckily manages to awaken just in time to catch a glimpse of that door to a better life. She then steps thru the door, and just when she expects everything to be perfect — her oh-so-imperfect-but-comfortable life shatters into a million pieces. But one day at a time, with all the strength & tenacity she can muster, she manages to put the pieces back together into a newer, more vital version of herself.
