In my experience, some of the most glorious sunsets arrive after a storm.  As the clouds move off, the sun illuminates what was monochromatic exchanging it for an array of color. Then water droplets left behind by the rain act like a thousand tiny prisms, reflecting the sun beams and making everything glisten.
