We Taste: Smokey Old Fashioned, Stone Fruit, Caramel Regions: South & Central America Process: Washed Lilla Skolan - "little school" is named after the preschool that preceded our cafe. What the swede's would call a "mörkrost kaffe" - or to us a "dark roast coffee". This blend is our take of a more "traditional style" of Swedish coffee, mimicking the coffee my mother would find on the shelves at the grocers in her youth. A little smokey, with sweet citrus and bourbon. The blend is rounded out by heavy stone fruit and caramel notes.  While modern “Nordic” coffee is a super light roast looking to showcase those lovely floral and tea like notes. “Traditional” Swedish coffee is a dark, rich, and heavy roast. Traditionally, this coffee is brewed in a similar style to our “cowboy coffee” here in the United States (boil pot of water, throw coffee in, let simmer then drink). In modern times though coffee brewers are the preferred method albeit more coffee to water than we normally do her
