With our highest compliments and utmost honors, Bay Colony Antiques is proud to bring to market this fantastic 18th century antique Queen Anne Tiger Maple corner / roundabout chair. We encounter a fair amount of early Queen Anne & Chippendale roundabout chairs but only purchase a select few each year. When this chair was made it wouldn’t have excited many people as they were traditionally crafted in Mahogany or Walnut with complex splats & either pad or ball & claw feet. This is a country made piece by a skilled cabinet maker who must have been familiar with the trendy new design but didn’t have the experience or a sufficient enough market to perfect it. The chair has a rush seat that’s completely useable and intact and features simple turnings on the legs with bulbous stretchers.
