19th C Antique New England Sheraton Cherry & Tiger Maple Serpentine Card Table

With our highest compliments and utmost honors, Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this wonderful late 18th / early 19th century antique Sheraton Cherry & Tiger Maple card table. The table was crafted CA 1795-1810 and is absolutely stunning. The top is solid Cherry with a highly figured grain and an incised carving along the edge. The apron is crafted from bold grain Tiger Maple & the table has 5 Cherry legs with well balanced turnings. We have this listed as a New England table but it also could have been made in Pennsylvania outside of Philadelphia. This specific serpentine form was a little more popular Pennsylvania but we felt more confident with a New England attribution. For being a country made piece the table is exceptionally well executed & the cabinet maker was clearly trained in an advanced cabinet shop at some point in their career.
