A colorful, minutely painted dish from the first half of the 19th century. I can’t imagine how much detail there is to the painting. The scalloped edge dish has been painted in over glaze enamels with gilt accents, including in the hair of the ladies. The design shows alternating panels of courtyard scenes and floral and bird patterns. The colored glazes are bright with good shading. The white glaze is not a bright white. The foot is shallow and is unglazed with some grit adhering to it. There is no mark on the base. MEASUREMENTS 5 ½” (14.0 cm) diameter x 1 ¼” (3.2 cm) tall. Weighs 6.9 oz (195 g) CONDITION There is wear to the gilt, especially in the central well and on the rim. There are two tiny glaze hairlines on the outside near the mouth. There are no breaks or chips. There are kiln flaws, such as black spots, tiny paint spots and pin holes. The dish is still colorful with the gilding still in the women’s hair. A colorful amazingly well painted
