Chinese Wood and Lacquer Carved Lid 18/19th Century

A wooden lid with intricate and artistic carvings on both sides. It has a flange that would have fit a base.   The top of the wooden lid is carved as a melon with tendrils. The inside has a very elaborate carving of immortals in the clouds with a foo lion flying above. The wood was then covered in a black lacquer. The carving is very fine and deep.   MEASUREMENTS   3.75” (9.5 cm) wide x 3 3/16” (8.1 cm) tall x 3/8” (.95 cm) thick. Weighs 2.0 oz (50 g)   CONDITION   There are no breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs.   A great carving to add to an antique Chinese collection. Sitting on a stand, it would show off the carvings on both sides.
