English Silverplate and Glass Sugar Shaker Circa 1930
An English glass sugar shaker with a silver plate top from the 1930s that will be useful for dusting desserts and other baked goods.The molded and ribbed clear glass jar with a silver plate cap would be filled with confectioner's sugar to be used at dessert time. The cap has large holes just for sugar. The shaker has a shallow foot. A mark on the edge of the cap reads MADE IN ENGLAND.MEASUREMENTS2 ¾” diameter x 6 ½” tall. Weighs 8.7 oz (245 g)CONDITIONThere are no breaks, cracks, chips or repairs. The silver plate cap still has a little silver left; however most has been polished off. The glass has a faint purple tint from the sun’s interaction with glass over the years. A useful tool with old-time style to add a finishing touch to those delicious desserts.
