Large Chinese Altar Fruit Late Qing Republic
A cluster of soft paste peaches in a bowl that has that Kangxi style. The colors of the glazes have a muted Kangxi feel. A molded ceramic in the shape of a bowl full of peaches that would be placed on an altar. The glazes are thin and have run giving a sense of fluidity. The glaze has a crackle from time and usage. There is a shallow flat unglazed foot. The base is also unglazed. The ceramic is a pale buff color. MEASUREMENTS 6 ½” (16.5 cm) diameter x 6 ¾” (17.1 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 5.3 oz (1060 g) CONDITION There are multiple losses. The tips of 3 of the peaches are chipped. The chips on two of the peaches are minor glaze chips. The one on the third is a bit deeper. than the other two chips. The top peach has a loss where a flower and stem would have been. There is the loss of part of a blue stem near
