A large antique yellowware ceramic food mold with a corn cob design in the central well. It’s been well used and loved by generations of bakers. The mold has circular ridge patterns with a scalloped border. The raised foot is unglazed and the base is glazed. MEASUREMENTS 9 1/8” (23.2 cm) long x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) wide x 4” (10.2 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 11.6 oz (1230 g) CONDITION There are 6 rim chips, as well as several chips to the foot, but no hairlines or breaks. There is crazing to the glaze and kiln flaws such as bumps, reserve lines, and dark spots. The mold was handmade and is not perfectly even; it is a little shorter on one side than the other. It shows wear from time and use. An antique food mold with a lot of character to add to a display or collection.
